The Port of Oakland experienced a robust 7% increase in loaded container volume in September 2024, with 82,180 TEUs handled, up from 74,428 TEUs in September 2023. Loaded imports surged 10.4%, while exports rose 2.9%, processing 61,466 TEUs compared to 59,757 TEUs last year. Empty imports climbed 13.2% to 12,692 TEUs, and empty exports saw a 33.7% jump, reaching 35,337 TEUs. This growth, driven by holiday and harvest season demands, solidifies the Port’s position as a key export hub for California’s agricultural products and signals a strong fourth quarter ahead.
